I can not begin to thank you and the volunteers enough. Over the past year I have worked with many members of your church and each time I am touched by their generosity of time, energy and spirit.

You all are giving more than you know! We truly appreciate all that you have done~

Letter from Soldier in Iraq

Dear Members of Community Christian Church,

Thank you so much for the great packages you've been sending our way! We've been having a great time opening and enjoying everything in them! Everything can be used and all the rest can (and is) eaten! Please keep us in your prayers, but more importantly, our strong families at home who are waiting for us! You are all greatly appreciated!

God Bless each and everyone of you!

In Christ,

Serving the Homeless on Good Friday!

Community Christian was invited to serve the homeless at the Thanksgiving in March event at the Broward Outreach Center in Pompano.

58 volunteers from CCC spent Good Friday at the homeless shelter. Brian and the Worship Team played worship music outdoors in the courtyard. The music created a festive party atmosphere.

About 10 from CCC volunteered to wash the feet of the homeless, and the homeless lined up waiting for their turn. Watching the interactions between our volunteers and the homeless was profound.

Some volunteers started up a volleyball game, while others played basketball. The physical activity seemed to be a common language.

We set up tables decorating them with table cloths and center pieces, and we worked in the kitchen helping to prepare the food. The homeless were instructed to take a seat because they were the guest of honor. On Good Friday, they wouldn’t be standing in a food line with their hands out…they sat down and they were served! CCC served them restaurant style. Meals, drinks and desserts were delivered to each person sitting down. Then we cleaned up after them.

After lunch we passed out the Hope Totes that CCC assembled and donated at our last Community Impact Event. Hope Totes are filled with personal hygiene items that the homeless can use to clean up and feel better about themselves.

It was a Great Day! Lives were touched as the volunteers of CCC let God’s light shine through them.
